Os estudos de género, sobre as mulheres e os feminismos produziram efeitos de transformação importantes na vida quotidiana e no conhecimento sobre a realidade. No entanto, e embora os temas da igualdade de direitos estejam cada vez mais na agenda pública, há avanços e recuos e a persistência das desigualdades de género desafia-nos a procurar análises mais sólidas.
O Centro Interdisciplinar de Estudos de Género (CIEG) quer contribuir para o aprofundamento analítico destas temáticas, e convida-vos a participar no Congresso Internacional de Estudos de Género a 25, 26 e 27 de maio de 2016 com o seguinte tema: “Estudos de Género em debate: Percursos, desafios e olhares interdisciplinares”.
Contamos convosco para procurar respostas para questões como: que efeito têm tido as diferentes políticas de igualdade de género na efetiva concretização de direitos? Como garantir a aplicação de leis de forma a prevenir efeitos perversos, como acontece no caso da violência de género? Poderes, relações de poder, dominação masculina e género: que conexões? Há fronteiras, e quais, entre investigação e ativismo? Como compatibilizar o sujeito coletivo de direitos “mulheres” com a diversidade étnica, de classe, geracional, de orientação sexual e global? Como se faz género na vida quotidiana e nas diferentes instituições: entre a reprodução e a agência? Heteronormatividade, corpo e sexualidade: questão central dos estudos de género? Homens e masculinidades: novas configurações? Que efeitos de backlash tem tido a crise, o aumento das desigualdades e o pensamento neoliberal na vida de mulheres e homens do presente?
Pretendemos também trazer a debate os contributos de investigadoras e investigadores de diferentes partes do mundo para nos ajudarem a refletir sobre os percursos dos estudos de género, sobre as mulheres e os feminismos nos seus contextos geográficos, políticos e socioculturais.
Na comemoração do seu 4º aniversário o CIEG tem muito gosto em juntar-se às comemorações dos 110 anos do Instituto Superior de Ciências Sociais e Políticas (ISCSP) da Universidade de Lisboa (ULisboa), na realização do seu 1º Congresso Internacional.
As propostas de comunicação devem indicar claramente em que linha de investigação (I, II ou III) se enquadram. As grandes linhas de investigação a considerar são as seguintes:

Género, feminismos e estudos sobre as mulheres
História das ideias e das teorias;
Teorias contemporâneas e inovações;
Metodologias extensivas, intensivas e perspetiva comparativa internacional
II
Políticas, instituições e cidadania
Políticas públicas;
Igualdade, Direito e direitos;
Democracia e instituições políticas.
III
Género e construção das sociedades contemporâneas
Família, sexualidade e relações íntimas;
Representações, identidade e cultura;
Corpo, saúde e violência de género;
Classes sociais, desigualdades e valores;
Trabalho, economia e ambiente;
Migrações, globalização e desenvolvimento;
Masculinidades;
Estudos culturais e artísticos de género;
Estudos LGBT.
As propostas de comunicação, com o máximo de 300 palavras, deverão ser enviadas até ao dia 30 de novembro de 2015para o email congressocieg2016@iscsp.
Os valores da inscrição, nas diferentes modalidades, serão divulgados em breve.

Gender and women studies and feminisms have produced important transformations in our daily life and in our understanding of reality. While the topic of equality of rights is increasingly on the public agenda, there have been advances and retreats and persisting gender inequalities continue to challenge us to look for more solid analyses.
The Interdisciplinary Centre on Gender Studies (CIEG) wishes to contribute to the analytical deepening of these issues and invites you to participate in the International Congress of Gender Studies, on 25, 26 and 27th may 2016 under the following theme “Gender Studies in Debate: Pathways, challenges and interdisciplinary perspectives”
We count on you to address questions such as: what impact have had different gender equality policies on the effective implementation of rights? How to ensure the implementation of laws and prevent perverse effects? Power, relations of power, masculine domination and gender: which connections? Are there frontiers between activism and research, and if yes, how/where to draw them? How to balance the collective subject ‘women’ with ethnic, class, generational, sexual orientation, and global diversity? How is gender performed in daily life and in different institutions: between reproduction and agency? Heteronormativity, bodies, and sexuality: central issue for gender studies? Men and masculinities: new configurations? What backlash effects have the crisis, the increased inequalities and the neoliberal thinking had on the current life of men and women?
We also wish to bring to the debate the contributions of researchers from different parts of the world to help us reflect upon the pathways followed by gender and women studies and feminisms in their geographic, political and sociocultural contexts.
Marking its 4th anniversary, CIEG is very pleased to join the celebrations of the 110 years of Instituto Superior de Ciências Sociais e Políticas (ISCSP) of University of Lisbon (ULisboa), by organizing its 1st International Congress.
The abstracts, no longer than 300 words, should clearly indicate in which research line (I, II or III) the paper should be included. The research lines to consider are the following:

Contemporary theories and innovations;
Extensive and intensive methodologies and international comparative perspective.

Policies, institutions and citizenship
Public policies;
Equality, Law and righs;
Democracy and political institutions.

Body, health and gender violence;
Social class, inequality and values;
Work, economy and environment;

Cultural and artistic gender studies;
LGBT studies.
Abstracts should be sent until 30 november 2015 to the following email address: congressocieg2016@iscsp.
Deadline for notice of acceptance/rejection: 31 january 2016.
